![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A cold night in Hamburg, January 2010, a small company of Swedes were exposed to something previously unheard of - a really good and convincing synth pop/post punk band with the ability to perform on stage in an entertaining manner. They were also blessed with a healthy dose of humour and self-distance. Today they call themselves "Unhappybirthday" and are possibly playing indie/elektropop-disco, but we have a few copies left of their last two releases under the name "Goja Moon Rockah". Disco Dracula contains nicely tweaked synthesizers and lyrics about ice cream, monster trucks and everything inbetween (such as vampires), sung by Herr Ja - au naturel or furiously processed through a vocoder. The trio exhibits a nack for details, and with their poetic talent they take the listener to a place inbetween lust and nausea, from the dance floor to the dark ally outside where one gets the teeth kicked in.
